Objective:	Explain how South Asia’s physical geography affected the development of Indus Valley civilizations. Identify how, after the Harappan civilization declined, the Aryan immigrants forged a new Indian civilization. Explain how Buddhism emerged in India around 500 B.C. Compare the Maurya and Gupta Empires. Describe how the achievements of ancient India have influenced much of the world.
